Zantac treats some conditions causing your body make too much stomach acid (e.g., Zollinger-Ellison syndrome). It also deals with ulcerations of small intestine that do not respond to any other treatment. It can as well be taken in other cases as recommended by your doctor.

How Taken

Use this drug as instructed by your physician. Zantac should be taken orally with or without meals. Zantac should be swallowed whole. It should not be crushed or chewed before swallowing. Do not stop taking Zantac even if you are getting better. Do not skip any doses. You will remember to take Zantac if you do it at the same time every day.

Zantac is an H2 receptor blocker. It acts blocking the action of histamine in the stomach. This decreases the amount of acid produced by the stomach. This helps to decrease heartburn, heal irritation of the esophagus and ulcerations of the stomach or intestines.
